Bodywork for PTSD 1 - 16 hours

Bodywork for PTSD 2 - 14 Hours

NCBTMB & CE BROKER APPROVED

This 2-day workshop (16 CE) helps massage professionals gain clarity between stress, trauma, and PTSD/PTSI. It provides an in-depth look into the power of a ‘healthy touch’ and its impact on trauma survivors. Participants will learn to anticipate and treat triggers of PTSD episodes, understand their role and scope of practice in the healing process, and get hands-on time with the techniques in instructor-monitored sessions. The lecture will discuss clinical Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) taken from the DSM-V and how it shows up on a massage table and in life. Attendees will explore how a ‘healthy touch’ can facilitate change in the client’s tissues, empower the client to be part of the healing process and grow their understanding of listening, assessing, and treating stress and PTSD. This workshop provides a fully-clothed, trauma-informed, patient-centered approach to treating trauma/PTSD/PTSI through healthy-touch bodywork.

Bodywork for PTSD 2 (14 CE) maximizes comprehension and integration with the techniques and content from the first class. We touch on general rules and roles for session work as it relates to the practitioner and client. Group work allows each participant to understand a range of perspectives and experiences better. We introduce techniques to further our ability to establish trust through touch. Refining communication techniques support our scope of practice while building rapport with clients. Time spent looking at restriction, resistance, and ease. The lecture and hands-on rolls out several interdisciplinary approaches that treat specific or holistic. Students will explore manual techniques integrated from craniosacral, myofascial release, kinesiology, active, and passive range of motion.

Bodywork for PTSD 2 delivers new whole-body therapy engineered to optimize the capabilities of the healing body.
